SAINT JOSEPH'S FAMILY + SENIOR HOUSING, OAKLAND, CA
Saint Joseph's complex of 5 existing brick masonry buildings is a former convalescent home, chapel, and accessory structures converted with the use of historic tax credits into 84 affordable senior rental units, ground floor commercial space, and 62 affordable family rental units. Five existing brick masonry buildings were renovated, while one new four-story wood framed residential structure over sub-terranean parking structure was created with a community center and management offices.
