HUNTER'S POINT WELCOME CENTER, SAN FRANCISCO, CA

The client asked to design a sales and welcome center as well as showcase for local artist work for the Hunter's Point and Candlestick Point neighborhood developments for less than $1 million. The structure had to be non-permanent in nature so it could be relocated from Hunters Point to Candlestick Point, and it had to draw it's influences from the local shipyard history as well as the thriving artist community that existed there. We chose to design a structure using open top cargo containers [used for oversized items] flipped on top of each other and stacked side by side to create an open-ended tube-like structure.
[Development was designed for Lennar Urban while at Van Meter Williams Pollack, LLP]
